For the Rhythm Assignment, in CyberARTS class, I decided to make this design. I thought this design was emotionally explicit in of how it makes you feel, I believe it radiates a feeling of grace, movement, and bliss perhaps. It expresses rhythm because the lines are curved and multi-directional, thus seemingly moving. I thought that using simple black lines on a white background with light grey lines continuing around the black lines would be as minimalist as possible because I've found that minimalist illustrations are more often than not (in my personal opinion) more beautiful, meaningful, immaculate, and powerful than a more detailed picture. The meaning I thought this simple doodle portrayed was that of peace, longevity, and an almost far-gone sense of relaxation or a high of sorts. I hope you enjoyed capturing this little piece in your minds, peace.
This is the Line Assignment for my CyberARTS class. The lines in this illustration and the distance between them (both horizontal and vertical) create an optical illusion. You perceive a line to be going through the picture in a zig zag where there is none. Also the distance between the lines at the bottom of the picture as opposed to the top of the picture greatly differs, as the bottom is tight and confined, whereas the top is spaced and released. This portrays a confusing and distant series of lines nonintersecting and in of themselves creating another invisible line. The image this bring to mind (for me anyway) is smoke escaping from a poorly ventilated area. Hope you enjoyed.
